Schlosskirche Virtual Tour
Overview

Articulate Storyline's 360° Image functionality took me back to the days of the old Britannica Encyclopedia CDs that included a virtual tour sections, where you could see the wonders of the world without leaving your seat. So, I tried to capture that nostalgia by building a simple virtual tour of the Schlosskirche or the All Saints' Church, Wittenberg, Germany. This is thought to be the church where Martin Luther posted the Ninety-five Theses in 1517, calling for the start of the Protestant Reformation.
An interaction like this one follows the Demonstration phase of Merrill's Principles of Instruction, as it provides a context for learners to understand or internalise certain information. For example, in a history course, learners can actually see the doors that Martin Luther nailed the Ninety-five Theses.
This small project makes use of an equirectangular image of the inside of the church to form the 360° image. There are hotspots on places of interest, that when clicked open a dialogue box with and image and additional information related to the particular artifact.
